An outdoor wreath will be constantly exposed to the elements and any wreath under consideration needs be able to handle whatever kind of weather conditions it will see. It's not recommended to use a delicate floral wreath, for instance, when it will be displayed in a windy environment. Just the same, a wreath that has lots of cloth bows is shouldn't be displayed in a very rainy environment. Any wreath you choose to display outside needs to be able to endure its climate.
When it comes to decorating with the wreaths, you have more options than simply hanging a wreath on the door. Look around your house. Are there any bare spots on the wall that could use a wreath? Perhaps hang some in the windows. A wreath would make a great centerpiece for your dining table or coffee table. Just lay a wreath in the middle, and fill the center of the wreath with candles or other decorations to match the season. Smaller wreaths can be used in a similar way on a bare spot on your bookshelf or end table. Just use your imagination. If there's a gap in your decor, chances are, a wreath would fit in well.

You can add plastic eggs for Easter, or spring flowers for the rest of the season. Just take a look through your local craft store, and see what wreaths they have available to suit your decor. You should easily be able to find something of an appropriate size and style for your decor.
Don't be afraid to embellish a wreath yourself. You can take a plain wreath, and add decorations to it, using craft glue, or craft wire to secure the embellishments. If you're more ambitious, you can always create your own wreath from scratch. Go to the craft store, and find a wreath base. These are usually foam or wood rings in various sizes. Buy a wreath base that suits your needs, and fasten boughs and leaves to it, then add other embellishments as desired. You can use artificial branches or leaves to create a wreath, or you can use real leaves. Soon, you'll find yourself with a wide variety of wreaths for any occasion.
The last thing you will want to do is clean your wreath at least once or twice a month. There are wreath cleaners available to do a great job cleaning your wreath while protecting it as well. Never put your wreath under running water or standing water. Use a hair dryer with a low cool setting to blow the dust off.
